New Free Trade Agreement Resource Online
Trade Minister Mark Vaile today launched a new, innovative Australian Government website - fta.gov.au - providing businesses with an easy-to-use online guide to Australia's free trade agreements (FTAs).
The website delivers a whole-of-government gateway so businesses can navigate each of the agreements and access information and related services offered by a number of Australian Government agencies.
"The fta.gov.au website will become an effective tool for Australian businesses, providing a dynamic source of practical information relating to Australia's free trade agreements," Mr Vaile said.
"The website will help businesses identify new opportunities and take advantage of improved market access."
Australia now has comprehensive free trade agreements with the United States, Thailand, Singapore and New Zealand. Each of these agreements delivers broad economic and commercial gains for Australia, with distinctive benefits for specific sectors and exporters.
"In support of Australian business, the Australian Government's agenda for free trade agreements is the most exciting and dynamic development in Australia's trade policy history. Our pursuit of FTAs reflects a comprehensive strategy for promoting trade liberalisation at multilateral, regional and bilateral levels," Mr Vaile said.
Austrade and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade have developed fta.gov.au in partnership with other Australian Government agencies.
For more information visit the Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) website.
Detailed and up to date information on existing or potential FTA negotiations, as well as any FTA feasibility studies, can be found on the DFAT website.
