New Deputy Chairman Appointed to EFIC Board
Trade Minister Mark Vaile today announced the appointment of Ian
Knop as Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Export Finance and Insurance
Corporation (EFIC).
"Ian Knop has been a member of the EFIC Board since August last year.
He has extensive commercial experience and a strong policy sense in
promoting EFIC's role of supporting Australian exporters," Mr Vaile
said.
Mr Knop is currently the chairman of management consulting firm Profile
Ray and Berndtson and has experience in services exports as Chairman
of the Australian International Hotel School Management Board and
Hotel Kurrajong, Canberra. Mr Knop is also a former chairman of the
Sydney Ports Corporation and a former director of Fincom in NSW.
"I have every confidence Mr Knop will provide excellent support to
the Chairman of the EFIC Board to ensure EFIC continues to provide
world class services for Australian exporters," Mr Vaile said.
Mr Knop will fill the vacancy left by Peter Young, who was appointed
EFIC Chairman in September. He will serve a three year term from
21 November.
