LEADING INVESTMENT MANAGER JOINS AUSTRADE BOARD
Senator McMullan said Elizabeth Bryan, General Manager of Investments for the NSW State Super Corporation, has built a strong reputation in the business world by engineering a major turn-around in performance of Australia's largest wholesale superannuation fund.
The Corporation is responsible for the investment and administration of superannuation for the NSW public sector workforce - the fourth largest fund under management in Australia, with a portfolio of more than $15 billion.
Ms Bryan currently serves on the Board of Australian Defence Industries Pty Ltd, is a Member of the National Investment Council, and is Deputy Chair of the Australian Investment Managers' Association.
As a member of the Australian Manufacturing Council, she chaired the Australian Manufacturing Council's Emerging Exporters Committee, which commissioned the McKinsey Emerging Exporters study on the nation's potential export performance.
The report identified an emerging group of Australian exporters described as 'Born Global' - companies established specifically for export. It also called for an urgent rationalisation and streamlining of the delivery of Government programs available to small and medium sized exporters (SMEs).
Ms Bryan was previously General Manager of Development Investment with the Australian Industry Development Corporation (AIDC), with responsibility for management of AIDC's equity investment business.
Senator McMullan said Ms Bryan will take take up her appointment on the Austrade Board on 1 November.
